The Keeping Kids Connected to Learning and Schooling Summit took place on 7 March 2025, and brought education stakeholders and students together to discuss the transition from primary to secondary school, which is known to be a key time of vulnerability for students.
The 2025 event attracted participants, including educators, principals, support workers, academics, researchers and policymakers from the Department for Education and Department for Child Protection.
This report records and summarises what attendees discussed, including ideas for ensuring a smoother transition from primary school to secondary school and the positive knock-on effects of positive school transitions.
