CCYP was proudly represented by three passionate young South Australians at Parliament House in Canberra last week. South Australian delegates Dee, Holly and Xavier teamed up with other young people from around Australia to form a Youth Delegation at the annual Australian Secondary Principals’ Association Summit.
Young Change Agents brought together the Delegation to get a youth perspective on policy discussions and education reform. Over two days, the Youth Delegation workshopped ideas and presented them to more than 60 school principals and national decision makers. Insights included the need to rethink success and to better prepare students for the jobs of the future.
Dee, 16, said: “The purpose of education is to grow – to learn about yourself, the world, everyone around you… Education is a gift. We gift 13 years of our lives to it, so we need to make the most of it.”
