The Office of the Commissioner for Children and Young People produces reports based on the work we do. The Commissioner is required to publish an Annual Report which is presented to the Minister for Education and some of our reports are presented to the South Australian Parliament.
The Office of the Commissioner for Children and Young People also carries out research and contributes to reports with other Commissioners and Guardians in Australia.
The Commissioner’s functions according to the Children and Young People (Oversight and Advocacy Bodies) Act 2016 includes undertaking or commissioning research into topics related to children and young people. The research will inform our future work, research and advice to improve the outcomes of children and young people in SA. The Commissioner then makes submissions to government on issues concerning the rights of children and young people.
