The Commissioner works to give South Australian children and young people a voice and to ensure their views are given due weight according to their age and maturity.
This Annual Report was prepared for presentation to Parliament as per the requirements of the statutory reporting of the Children and Young People (Oversight and Advocacy Bodies) Act 2016 (OAB Act).
It continues to focus on the 5 advocacy areas for children and young people, as defined by South Australia’s Child Development Council: health, safety, wellbeing, education and citizenship, plus the additional priority area of ‘environment’, as this is a topic that SA’s children and young people have identified as being central to their lives.
In 2024-2025, the inaugural Commissioner published 16 project reports documenting what SA’s children and young people have said about what interests and concerns them.
