A State that prides itself on the national values of a fair go and justice for all, must act to ensure
children and young people in South Australia have adequate nutritious food, their own bed, suitable shoes and clothing, opportunities to go on school trips, and to enjoy an occasional family outing. We must create opportunities for those ‘less fortunate’ to play regular sport, or participate in an activity of interest to them, such as learning to play a musical instrument or develop an artistic talent.
To understand the views of South Australian children and young people about poverty, the Commissioner created a survey that ran between January and July of 2019, which over 1100 young people between 14 and 22 completed.
From the responses to this survey, the Commissioner generated Leave No One Behind.
